The Drop-Shot Rig from Jaeger is a ready-made rig that will get you started right away. Tie it to your main line, choose your favorite bait and you’re ready for battle. The Japanese hook is extra strong, ultra sharp and robust. The rig is knotted on hard-wearing fluorocarbon and features a fast-sinking, eco-friendly tungsten weight. Each rig is handmade to ensure high quality knots.
With the drop-shot assembly, the shad hangs vertically from the leader (but stands horizontally in the water) and mimics small prey fish. Slowly spin your bait a few feet in and pause occasionally for 5-10 seconds. During this pause you can also give soft taps to your bait without moving the weight on the bottom! If there are no bites after a while, turn your drop-shot assembly and the weight a few meters in and repeat this principle. A perch angler can’t live without the drop-shot!
