The Shakespeare Salt XT Uptide is a unique rod for its price. Using the best quality carbon, the slim blanks are responsive yet very powerful and strong. The rod is specially designed to cast heavy weights far from the boat, but the sensitive tip ensures perfect bite detection. The special short butt with long rod tip section results in perfect bending across the entire blank and maintains power in the butt section. In addition, the rod is equipped with special SW proof K-type guide eyes that prevent the line from getting tangled around the guide eyes, preventing knots or breaks.
