The Yasei AX Jerkbait Cast from Shimano is specially designed for fishing large jerkbaits and gliders. To get the best action out of your jerkbaits you need a rod with special features and that is exactly what the Yasei Jerkbait possesses. The short length, a hefty backbone and a fast tip make it possible to animate your lures to the fullest, at whatever speed you want, without tiring yourself out. With a length of only 1.98m, it is short enough to be used with a downward or a sideways chasing technique, from the shore, (belly) boat or kayak. Combine it with a baitcaster reel in size 151 to 301 for optimum balance and you have a wonderful jerkbait combo. With this you can spend a full day jerkbaiting without getting tired.

With an optimal casting weight of 45-100g, the Yasei AX Jerkbait is best suited for medium to large lures. Due to the subtle action of the tip, you can also fish with lighter jerkbaits if you wish. And remember that this model is specifically designed for using jerkbaits, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with it with swimbaits and larger lures.

The Yasei Jerkbait is made from a High Modulus Full Carbon blank using Hi-Power X technology and NanoAlloy. This reduces the twisting of the blank when casting and during the fight but most importantly when jerking your lure. This results in a more solid movement at any speed, which also allows you to increase the amount of aggression in your technique when needed. To further improve long-range casting and overall performance, the rod is equipped with Fuji Alconite K-type guides.
